The history of the swans

In the inventory of Făgăraș Fortress from 1656, it was mentioned that on the defense ditch which surrounded the fortress were six swans which had as a daily ration, one rye bread. Twenty years later, their number grew to nine swans and six swan chicks, and the Princess of Transylvania and the mistress of the fortress, Anna Bornemisza was giving precise instructions regarding their care. Today, ten swans enjoy the attention of the tourists.
